SDLP Youth Mid Ulster - Paddy Heron Branch.

The Paddy Heron branch of the SDLP Youth covers activists from South Derry & East Tyrone.

The Mid Ulster branch is named after the late Paddy Heron, a civil rights activist and founding member of the party. Paddy was an SDLP councillor for many years and served as the first Irish nationalist chairperson of the old Magherafelt council. Away from politics Paddy was active in the Credit Union movement, a founding member of Ballinascreen Credit Union. Paddy was also active in the GAA representing Derry at senior level in football and served as chair and president of St. Colm's GAC, Ballinascreen.
